Introduction
Sometimes it's necessary to move an Act from one Rundown to another. Perhaps an Act was in the Semi Final and has made it to the Grand Final etc. Or maybe you want to keep versions of Acts as a reference to see what's changed. You can use the export function to make a copy of an Act and import it into the next Rundown. Another way is to export a whole Project or Rundown and then import Acts into a new Rundown.
Export an Act then Import an Act to a different Rundown
You can export a single Act and then import it, one at a time.
- Open the Project and the Rundown where the Act is that you want to move.
- Select the Act you need to move. From the File Menu, select File > Export > Export Act, or use the keyboard shortcut (Mac: Shift-Command-E or Windows: Ctrl+Shift+E). Save the Act as a file on your computer.
- Open the new Rundown that you want to move the Act to. From the File Menu, select File > Import Act, or use the keyboard shortcut (Mac: Shift-Command-I or Windows: Ctrl+Shift+I). Select the Act's file from your computer, the file name will end in .cue.
Imported Acts will have the letter 'i' added to the Act's number to show that it's been imported. You can rename this.
Export and Import a Rundown or Project
You can export a Rundown, or a whole Project of Rundowns, and then import Acts from them.
- To export a whole Project and its Rundowns and Acts, from the Home view, select the Project. To export just a Rundown and its Acts, from the Rundown view select the Rundown. From the File Menu, select File > Export > Export Project, or use the keyboard shortcut (Mac: Shift-Command-E or Windows: Ctrl+Shift+E). Save the Act as a file on your computer.
- Open the Project and then the Rundown that you want to import an Act to.
- With the Rundown open, from the File Menu, select File > Import Act, or use the keyboard shortcut (Mac: Shift-Command-I or Windows: Ctrl+Shift+I). Select the Rundown or Project's file from your computer, the file name will end in .cue.
- A dialog will let you select which Act you want to import, by choosing which Rundown and selecting an Act.
You can only import one Act at a time, so to import multiple Acts repeat steps 3 & 4 as necessary.
